Are Black Republicans political octoroons?

Blatant discrimination against black farmers put them in a competitive disadvantage versus their white counterparts. On the other hand, the black farmers won a billion dollar settlement from the Federal Government but Republicans US Senators have blocked their collecting it. It is time for black Republicans like Armstrong Williams and me to lobby on behalf of Black America, so we no long appear to be political octoroons at best and Uncle Toms at worst.

Hmm, I'm a white liberal who grew up during the Civil Rights movement and somehow would up assuming that blacks were also liberal. I later found out how wrong I was.

However, during those times there were also Republicans who were not theocorporate fanatics, such as Jacob Javits, Everett Dirksen, Nelson Rockefeller, and they considered Democrats "the loyal opposition," not "The Enemy."

How a black person can be a Republican in 2010 is as baffling to me as a gay Republican unless their primary allegiance is to maximize profits.

Equality for mankind is self evident, the rest can only be commentary. Politics is not only social issues, but economic issues. So no, anyone who supports less Government taxes or intervention, can choose whatever party they want, without shame or ridicule. I support a strong Government, with better investments. I believe the US can invest in the productivity of the US, spend wiser and build the value of the US. It does seem the opposite of a strong Government is Afghanistan.

Dr. Miller, I hope that you will reconsider your investment into affixing yourself to the Republican and/or Democratic parties. They are nothing but a ruse that serves to further divide the citizens of this nation.

I do appreciate your desire to stand up for those Black farmers so they may receive their settlement but the real question remains is why you would stay involved with such an abhorrent organization that has shown us their true intentions?

"Republicans US Senators have blocked their collecting it."

Democrats have had a majority in the congress for 4yrs. Couldn't they push it through like they did health care?
