Commonsense Is the First Casualty in True Love

If you are deciding on taking a chance that your future spouse will grow to love you with time, then you are gambling with happiness meaning there is a good chance you will lose this bet.

When I chat with long tenured married people one thing becomes very clear they remember almost to the day they fell in love. But they cannot tell you what love is. As one senior citizen lady said, “You just know!”

When you decide on gambling on pseudo love hoping for today’s animal attraction to spontaneously morph into tomorrow’s true love you are giving the putto a chance to destroy your marriage by bringing true love into the realm of either you or your spouse by someone possessing it. This marital collapse scenario is appreciated in a story of an ardent pinochle player hosting games at his home.

A group of chaps would play pinochle into the wee hours of the mornings at a host’s home. Hence, the host’s spouse would get to know these chaps. On an occasion, a married professional male visited a stranger’s house. This visitor was in an estranged relationship with his own wife. I was told that the first time he looked at the host’s wife he fell in love with this lady and she returned the adoration.

This professional chap became enchanted with taking this host’s wife. They initiated a love affair that was so intense when the professional chap moved from the East Coast to the Midwest he took the lover and his own children. His wife and the lover’s husband got left in the emotion lurch where coping with the emotional trauma associated with marital failure was now their lots in life.

Since the professional chap died not long after moving to the Midwest, you might wonder did this paramour give up too much for a few moments of true love. You want to keep in mind that true love is like an opiate that is very addictive. Remember that commonsense is the first casualty in a relationship when true love is within one’s grasp.

Tired of F'Ups

Being in love is worth the pain of throwing common sense away.

Women as well as men.. come and go... there is always another one around the corner.. but given the chance to make real good money.. may only come once in a lifetime...

When one is young .. save.. the other things will fall into place...

...and those with love today .. with no shelter, no food, and no job.. where does love buy then?

Joseph and Mary didn't have shelter, food or a job in a time of terror....but there was love There are a lot of stories and lore about true love. In Tripoli, a Mother's Love speaks for her daughter, In America, a Mother's Love gives the food to her child, then she eats. In well you get the picture, just substitute Father, Brother, Sister.

The issue is common sense/money or love. It is comparing apples and oranges. Love cannot be bought, sold or traded. It is a human emotion.

When you will do everything and give everything for someone else, that is true love. You just need to recognize that that person will do the same for you.
