Path to Citizenship: Illegal Immigrants Sent to Depopulating Areas

The illegal immigrant might be the unintended saving grace for many United States of America communities where deaths rival births.

The white racist juggernauts tantalize us with disdainful comments as “anchor babies.” They want to see native born children of illegal immigrant parents not be granted US citizenship at birth.  The anti-immigrant juggernauts see their cherish white supremacy vanishing because nonwhite immigrants tend to produce children.

Consider the median age of Hispanics is 27 versus 41 for whites. Clearly, the exploiters who enticed the illegal immigrants across the border did not have a plan for repatriating these people in their native lands once these people’s labor value was no longer needed. However, there are dying communities that these young illegal immigrant offer hope in reviving. Once America accepts the humanity of the nonwhite illegal immigrant their native born children will help to return the depopulating areas to the national average of 171 births to 100 deaths.

Weirton, WV is a classic case of what happens when people find change is difficult to accept. The seesaw between births and deaths had gone overwhelming towards the Angel of Death suggesting non-hostile depopulation genocide is underway.   The New York Times reports, “With just 71 babies born on average for every 100 residents who die, Brooke County, in which Weirton is partly located, has the largest such gap in the nation among counties in metropolitan areas, save for a handful of places that are magnets for retirees.”

I belong to Christ Our King Catholic Church in Wilmington, DE where I have seen the Angel of Death wreak havoc causing empty pews to become the norm. One of the greatest events in the church is the baptism of a child then followed by a wedding. There is plenty of gray hair signaling the advanced age of the population. Since interracial marriage and mixed race children are normal with the Christ Our King parishioners, I see them as a role model of white senior citizens embracing nonwhite children as their legacy.

An obvious idea for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants may be to require that they live, at least ten years, in a community where perhaps the depopulation ratio is 50 births to 45 deaths.  These youthful people will keep the community from fading away due to natural causes as the Angel of Death continues to wreak havoc with today’s senior citizens.

Children have a way of touching the hearts of people for they mean new life is blooming like spring. Hence, my guess is that today’s fear mongering perpetrated by the anti-immigrant juggernauts over the onslaught of nonwhite future citizens will fade as new community family configurations form underpinned by interracial and interethnic marriages becoming tomorrow’s norm as at Christ Our King Catholic Church.

Dr. Miller, I'm a minority in my own country, my people were here thousands of years before the any other race of people. IMO the illegal immigrants do not belong here, all the excuses being made for their illegal entry to the US is just that an excuse. It is their choice to enter illegally or not. No one is dragging them across the border against their will. They made a choice and if their deported then that is the result of a choice they made. Wanting to stop illegals from entering our country does not make one a racist. If you choose to welcome them and consider everyone that doesn't a racist that is your choice, my choice is the opposite.

Sorry Dr. Miller. I agree with Kavika. We have a legal process. Our doors are open. Moreso than any other republic including the country they come from.

The term "anchor babies" is a longstanding descriptive term that fits.

I agree with Kavika as well. The way I look at it, there is a wrong way to immigrate here and a right way. You choose the path to come here. There are consequences for making wrong choices.

I also agree with Kavika. This is not about being racist as the illegal status can be the focus of any race. The issue at hand is about how one chooses to enter this country illegally.

What do we do with the guesstimated 12 million illegals that are here?

Dr. Miller: ''What do we do with the guesstimated 12 million illegals that are here''...This is more then a one part problem. The first is the the border situation, the flow must be stopped or we will have 25 million in short order. The legal immigration situation, green cards etc is a mess, that is another area that has to be solved and that can only be done by the gov't. The third is the number of illegals that are currently in the US. Without jobs and with out benefits that number would decline. This is not a problem that can be solved overnight and will take the full power of the gov't to make it work. The end on sanctuary cities is another area that needs to be addresssed.

There is a way Dr. Miller, it's just that the politicians don't have the backbone to do it. They would rather cater to the illegals then help legal US citizens.

If all of you agree with Kavika then you all must be Native Americans since everyone else was an immigrant at one time, and few followed the strict guidelines set up now.

      Jack:

Being Native-Americans or not, isn't the problem. The guidelines that we have and have had for decades are not enforced by the government. If they are more or less strict now then in 1910 doesn't matter. It is what is enforce at the present time that counts. Laws changed over the years in many different areas of our system. The illegal situation is a political football, neither side really wants to change and enforce our laws. Regan granted amnesty to a couple of million and that was to be the solution, now 25 years later we have 12 million. Do we stay on the same course and have 25 million in another 25 years?

The US has always been a country of immigrants; why change now? As the article states some areas of the US are dying out.
The real irony is that most Hispanics coming to the US have quite a bit of Native American blood in them.

Yes we have been a country of immigrants. Do we open our borders to anyone in the world that wants to come here without restrictions?

''The real irony is that most Hispanics coming to the US have quite a bit of Native-American blood in them.'' That may be true, but then why not stay in their country of origin and make it a better country. It is not only the Hispanics Jack, it's the Chinese, Korean's etc that make up the 12 million.

I see that you did not mention Canadians or white Europans...Do you have a point!!!! the etc was to include all illegals. If you are implying that I'm picking on only those that are not white then I suggest that you re-evaluate your comment since I'm a non-white person of Ojibwe heritage.

If you want to get into the old arguement of racism, please find someone else to debate with.

          .Do you have a point!!!!

The fact is many who speak out against immigration do not include the group I mentioned. If you do not fall into the category than I am sorry. I could only go on the way you worded your comment.

The fact is and will remain as long as their are jobs here that will hire those who are here illegally they will come. It is also true that the politicians on the right want to persecute the immigrants and not the companies who hire illegally.

Of course I don't fall into that category. I've faced racism my whole life, why in the world would I attempt to leave out those that created it.

The truth of the matter is that neither party want's to stop illegal immigration. The dems see them as a vote and the repubs see them as money in the pocket. To try to blame only one party doesn't fly. Both are using this as a wedge and forgetting about US citizens.

Wrong: since they are not citizens they have no vote, but you are correct about Republicans using them for money, or rather their rich cronies, who use the cheap labor.

''Wrong: since they are not citizens they have no vote'' Wrong Jack, that's why the dems are all for amnesty, it's all about staying in power for the dems.

Your trying to tell me that the ''rich'' dems don't do the same re the labor. Face it Jack, both parties stink.

Kavika are you saying the Democrats want non citizens to vote? Amnesty means legal residency not citizenship
Immigration Amnesty in the United States: In 1986, Congress passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act, or IRCA, which granted approximately 2.8 million undocumented immigrants legal status in the United States. IRCA allowed millions of illegal or undocumented immigrants to receive a Green Card, which could eventually lead to U.S. citizenship. In addition, immediate relatives or dependents, which included about 143,000 individuals, could qualify for a Green card. .

No Jack, I'm not saying that dems want non-citizens to vote. Amnesty and a green card will lead some to citizenship, that is the vote I'm talking about.

The ''rich'' dems are all part of the corporate world and are just as guilty as the repubs. The bottom line is unlimited illegal immigration is not helping this country.

Any real proof that is what will happen? Or is it more likely they will work here for a while then move back down to Mexico when there are no more jobs for them?
The main reason illegals get hired is that they will get no protection from exploitation. Once they are citizens they will have to be paid at least minimum wage. When that happens the jobs dry up.

Wrong: many came through Canada and never were checked in at Ellis Island. Many Asians came into the US through California. Do you think the Chinese who worked on the railroad checked in anywhere?

I really do get sick of the argument that state, "Unless you're a Native American, you're an immigrant, too!".

I guess the fact that the Native Americans migrated here from other places was conveniently left out. I guess the fact that N. America was not a country in the -what, 1500's? - is ignored. It was a rough gathering of tribes that, from what I remember, didn't even like each other all the time.

When "whites" came here, there were no legal, moral, or ethical ways to do so. You came here. You marked land as yours to be used as you deemed fit. "Whites" made this country what it is and established rules. Everyone who was here in 1776 was made a citizen of the United States. Their descendents, meeting birth requirements, were also citizens.

Is it so difficult to follow the laws of the country that you want to gain employment in? Should we ever think about allowing people who break our laws each day they're here become citizens - just because they're here?

Just because they're here does not give them the right to citizen benefits. Just because they're here does not make their children citizens. Just because they're here and we don't like it does not make us racists. Nor does it make them good, or good for our country.

Bandage your bleeding heart; the only time your blood does a country good is when you spill it in defense of that country and its people.

Do you want to know what to do about the illegals in our country right now?

                          1. Fix the border. Pull the troops from Iraq/Afgan/Libya and put them on the border with live ammo and night-vision goggles. Post signs that state just that. Tell them to shoot first, ask questions later.

                          2. Put a halt to each program that allows illegals to get money/health insurance/housing for free or a discounted rate, and severely punish businesses that knowingly hire illegals. Severely punish the sanctuary cities by discontinuing federal assistance to cities that knowingly harbor and give aid to illegals.

                          3. For every illegal ages 16-30, give them the chance to become a U.S. citizen by serving our country in the military for 8 yrs on, 8 yrs off. Ensure that they know U.S. history and can correctly speak English. Allow the immediate members of the family to apply for green cards when the enlistment process is done and the new military member is off in boot camp.

This situation is far more complex than most people will agree. I have had the pleasure to work with illegal immigrants for the past five years. They are tireless, respectful, courteous and caring people, who wish only to provide slightly better lives for the families that they left behind. I consider many of my illegal co-workers to be the poster children for what Americans should be. Face it, the only reason these guys can find work here, is that the totally corrupt welfare farce in this country has provided so many undeserving leeches an easy out.

These guys came here legally, but stayed past the time they were meant to return to their country. They have bled for money mongers, toiled for tyrants, and get nothing in return but half a paycheck, and the security of living in a country which isnt run by drug cartels, or are we??? They are people, human beings. Not all of them good, but the ones who are will make wonderful citizens, taxpayers, and members of their communities. Whatever is done, and I agree something should be, it must take into account that these guys will be forever grateful and proud of the opportunity to become Americans.
