As a long tenured practicing Catholic, I am upset that 2 billion dollars have been paid for priest sexual exploitation of children. Yet I do not recall seeing one bishop go to jail for aiding in this skullduggery. Bishops should be convicted on the appearance of impropriety as would be the case for politicians since it is difficult to imagine that they did not know what was going on. Are bishops above the law?
