I chatted with a young college student about the 2012 General Election to find out if she had voted. She dumped her emotional bucket worrying aloud that a Mitt Romney win would mean the end of her money to go to college. Romney obviously had many other poor college students under tremendous stress worrying over money.
Romney evidently forgot a basic business tenet that businesses prosper by meeting customer needs. Hence, he gave President Barack Obama the opportunity to turn his purported business acumen leadership strength into his weakness by meeting the needs of various market segments – blacks, young people, and Hispanics.
Romney is failing to face up to all of the sorted antics that were exploited to dissuade African Americans and Hispanics from voting such as Voter ID requirements in hopes of scaring folks from the polls and an anti-immigrant undertone to stress out native born Latinos who are assumed illegal immigrants.
Romney needs to stop trying to be a spin-doctor and face the fact that the Republican Party is home to the Tea Party Movement (KKK) who symbolizes nonwhite Americans return to chattel with yesteryear’s white overlords. He sees President Obama is an enigma to the ultra-right-wing Republicans’ lily white concept of the United States of America; especially, since the President won reelection by 332 to 206 Electoral Votes.
Romney’s election team should have known that people may not come out to vote for you but they will definitely come out to vote against you. The fact that President Obama was the first nonwhite President then even the hint of Republicans attempting to denigrate his image was sufficient worry to kindle nonwhite voter turnouts for him.
Furthermore, the Republican Party’s sin of forgetting that all votes count the same was the real Romney downfall. When President Obama got campaign donations adding up to 100 million dollars from members of the 47 percent Romney wrote off he also got their vote and possible campaign help. Romney getting 100 million from a fat cat suggests that volunteerism is overshadowed by big bucks buying minions.
Romney’s real lesson learned from President Obama is his business acumen of writing off businesses does not fully translate into governing a nation because Romney cannot outsource inner city American votes to foreign nations.
